Initially designed to be robust and extremely hydrophobic, BarrierPaste is a hydrophobic blocker that is suitable for thick cryosections. BarrierPaste forms extra wide lines, yet dries as rapidly as our regular Pap pens. It is suitable for very long incubations with fixatives, detergents, antibodies and other reagents. 

BarrierPaste is supplied in a 10ml glass bottles with a stirrer magnet and is applied via a brush. As the hydrophobic barrier formulation is slightly differs in thickness from both our GnomePen Classic and GnomePen Flat PAP pens – BarrierPaste is supplied with a stirrer magnet and requires a quick stirring prior to use. 

This product is extremely robust and has a shelf life of 18 months. Every bottle of BarrierPaste is good for roughly 450 slides. BarrierPaste, as our other special PAP Pen products, is available in six different colors. It can also be supplied as a clear solution or in a color of your own choice.
