A little about Invignome’s history

Invignome was established in 2009. Not only we produce our own PAP Pens for IHC (named GnomePens). We needed to find a better PAP Pen alternative: A detergent resistnat, color-coded with a clear body so users will be able to order ahead of time (it’s not fun to run out in the middle of a big experiment day).

As scientists who perform Immunohistochemistry (IHC) we were long frustrated by hydrophobic pens that did not meet basic performance demands. So we developed our own formulation and applicators: 

Our journey started with a list of basic qualities needed: longevity, detergent resistance, a range of colors, price. After more than three years of development and rigorous testing our Barrier Paste was born. It was the perfect PAP Pen alternative: the product met and exceeded our best expectations and outperforms any PAP pen hydrophobic pen on the market. BarrierPaste proved itself , as a very effective hydrophobic barrier and resistant to every detergent tested.

The roller pen applicator is user-friendly and produces a smooth and fine hydrophobic barrier in any desired pattern on a single slide. With the multiple colors users can customize and color code treatment regions on a single slide.

Invignome is the maker and producer of the GnomePen PAP Pens. Invignome holds the entire rights for our IP and commercially secret formulations. We can formulate our hydrophobic barrier formulation to your demands: we can adapt our formulation, color and hydrophobicity levels to fit your unique requirements and experimental settings.
